13300hrs Depart from the
lobby. Drive south towards the Klias Peninsula.
Its wetlands and swamps are
natural habitat and home to some of Borneo’s amazing
wildlife.
Upon arrival at Garama,
light refreshments are served. Take a leisurely boat
cruise into the wetlands and through riverine forests.
Possible wildlife sightings
include mammals such as the endemic proboscis monkey,
macaque, silver langur, the nocturnal fruitbat; reptiles
like the monitor lizard, crocodile, mangrove snake; and
birds like the kingfisher, heron, brahminy kite and egret.
The boat cruises till
sunset and on the return journey, watch for the fireflies
that congregate in hundreds around the mangrove trees.
Enjoy a pleasant dinner by
the river.
