Itinerary: |
Day1 - 0900hrs Depart
and drive along the ridges of the Crocker Range to the
Poring Hot Springs. Along the highway, stop at Nabalu
Market for handicrafts and meet the indigenous Dusun
people. Continue to Poring, famous for its hot sulphur
springs.The highlight in Poring is the Canopy Walkway,
which provides the opportunity for a close-up observation
of the rainforest at the middle canopy level. After lunch
visit the Tropical Garden, then proceed to Kundasang to
visit the War Memorial and Vegetable Market. Drive to
Mesilau Nature Resort, nestled in the foothills of Mt
Kinabalu at 6000ft and check in. Enjoy a steamboat dinner
and overnight. (lunch, dinner)
Day2 - 0830hrs After breakfast, visit the
Nepenthes Garden to view pitcher plants of the montane
forest. Continue to the Kinabalu Park, the first World
Heritage Site of Malaysia. Mount Kinabalu, at an elevation
of 4092m, is the highest mountain in southeast Asia, and
dominates the surrounding countryside. Visit the Heritage
Gallery and the Mountain Garden. Return to Kota Kinabalu.
