Message from the Immediate Past Congress President

My dear friends and colleagues,

The organizing committee and I would like to thank each of you for making the 17th Biennial Congress of the AsAES such a success. We are extremely fortunate we were able to proceed in the nick of time, as many subsequent medical meetings have since been cancelled because of Covid-19. At our meeting, the atmosphere was excellent, the speakers were outstanding, and the friendship and camaraderie was obvious to everyone in attendance. We also enjoyed the historic first ever congress combined with our Endocrine Society of Australia. In fact, our endocrinologist enjoyed themselves so much, they are talking of joining us in Tokyo in 2022!

We missed those of you who couldn’t attend, but hope you joined us on the webcast, which had more than 200 viewers each day of the Congress.

Special thanks to all our sponsors, who made the Congress possible. Especially our Gold Sponsor, Medtronic, and our Educational Sponsors, Stryker and MIGA. And we owe a great debt to Sally Erickson, our conference organizer, whose supreme organizational and interpersonal skills ensured the success of the Congress. Special thanks also to my co-officers, Dr Miyauchi and Dr Imi Sairi for all they have done for our society. And best wishes to our new Chairman, Datuk Dr Hisham Abdullah and our new Congress President, Dr Takahiro Okamoto. It is nice to know our society rests in such capable hands.

With the warmest regards,

Julie Miller,
Immediate-past Congress Chairman
